CHANDIGARH: The Vigilance Bureau officials on Wednesday started questioning former Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal in connection with corruption cases against him and his family members.
About 50 Vigilance Bureau officers led by DIG S Chhatopadhyay and others including DIG Vigilance B K Uppal and DIG Jalandhar Surendra Paul Singh arrived at his residence here and began the investigations.
Hundreds of people, including nearly 20 MLAs and MPs waited at the gate of his house.
The Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee president Gurcharan Singh Tohra was also present at Badal''s residence.
The former chief minister is being questioned regarding the properties owned by the Badal family in Chandigarh, Haryana, including the Orbit Resorts (Gurgaon) and farm-house at Balasa (Sirsa), Punjab and Delhi, according to sources.
Badal''s son and MP Sukhbir Singh Badal met the VB team at the gate of the residence.
